McCallums Wins Instep Award as it tops Apparelmaster’s Instep Carbon and Sustainability League

McCallums Group’s commitment to the environment and sustainability has earned it a national award.

As part of the Apparelmaster New Zealand Group, McCallums Group shares a drive to minimise its impact on the environment and reduce CO2e emissions wherever possible.

That drive, combined with unique and practical initiatives and a commitment to the Instep Carbon and Sustainability Programme, has earned the Invercargill business the supreme award at the recent Apparelmaster Annual Conference.

Thanks mainly to the forward thinking use of non-fossil fuel as its main source of energy McCallums recorded the Lowest CO2e generation in the 30-strong Apparelmaster Group.

This keenly contested award is recognition for not just introducing and utilising efficient fuel and equipment, but importantly recognises the conscious efforts from all stakeholders in McCallums operation in operating in an efficient and sustainable manner.

McCallums Group’s approach to this is two-fold.

With a proud 90-year history servicing Invercargill and Southland, the group recognises that a commitment to environmental and sustainable ways of operating is integral to another 90 years of business ahead.

It also recognises the importance of this area to its customers, suppliers and stakeholders.

The Instep Carbon and Sustainability Programme monitors and reports the annual operational CO2e emissions in line with internationally recognised Greenhouse Gas Recording Standards.

Instep members are encouraged to get in step with their carbon footprint.

There is no doubt McCallums Group is putting its best foot forward to do just that – and will continue to do so.
