Brendan Mackay has been based in Queenstown for the past 12 years.
He’s been with McCallums Group for eight years, now as a Customer Service Representative, and in that time has been part of huge growth of business in the area.
From linen to Apparelmaster workwear and workplace rental solutions, every part of the business continues to see strong development in the Wakatipu area.
For Brendan, that’s meant a lot more time on the road – and if you’ve been to Queenstown recently, you’ll know what that’s like.
“You come up with new routes to go in peak times, but there is a lot more traffic than ever and a lot more tourists,” he says.
“My advice is just to turn up the music and cruise, because that’s all you can do.”
A typical day for Brendan starts at 5am and, between assisting with laundry, sorting linen and getting out and about to offer the best service he can to an ever increasing number of clients he can work up to 12 hours a day.
He does, though, always have time for some banter with clients – and that’s one of his favourite parts of the role.
Despite the already consistent growth in business for McCallums Group in the area, Brendan admits there’s still scope to grow even further.
“I was talking to a friend the other day and he just didn’t know what we offered. We have such a huge range – from linen to soap dispensers to door mats to workwear to towels – and so much more.”
When he’s not working, Brendan enjoys making the most of the Queenstown landscape, walking and mountain biking.
